Allures HCS is Hiring an Activity Aide Near Peru, IL
Do you like doing planning fun events, playing BINGO, or just having a great time? Then this might be the job for you! The Activities Aide provides ongoing programs that are designed to meet the interests, physical, mental, and psychosocial well being of each resident.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites:
- Group social activites
- Spritual programs
- Assist in providing opportunities for resident involvement in planning and implementation of activities
- Creative activities such as art, crafts, music, drama, and education programs
- Exercise actitives
- Promotion of facility and community interaction
- Prepare, plan, and coordinate a monthly calendar of actitives
- Train, and supervise volunteers when appropriate
- Assist with and facilitate gathering of information from residents and their families regarding their activity prefereces
- Encourage residents to particpate in activites and document appropriately
- Foster relationships of family members and community partners that may assist in supporting the activity department
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional verbal and written communicaiton skills
- Fun-loving, enthusiastic, outgoing personallity preferred
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disableed, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people with the facility
- Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weiht a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assit in evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- The noise level in the work environment is usally moderate
